Current Exchange Rates in Baku, Azerbaijan
As brief information, I want you to get an idea about the current money exchange rates in Azerbaijan for 2025.
I don’t want to bore you with a great list of all currencies of the countries against Azerbaijani Manat (AZN ₼).
That’s why, it’d be much better to look at the most popular currencies on Earth with their AZN equivalent, which are:
If you want to see more, take a look at the official exchange rates of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CBA).
USD to AZN Exchange Rate
It's been almost 8 years that the USD to AZN exchange rates have been more or less the same.
Current USD AZN Exchange Rate:

Turns out, the Azerbaijani manat does not operate under a floating exchange rate system.
That's why it’s possible to exchange your US dollar at a rate close to this ($1 = ₼1.70) rate with peace of mind.
Euro to AZN Exchange Rate
In recent years, the Euro (EUR) has been going up and down against the Azerbaijani Manat (AZN).
Current Euro AZN Exchange Rate:

So, if you’ve got your Azerbaijani e-Visa and want to travel soon, Euro is not a bad choice to take with you for exchange.
Note: I am including actual exchange rates based on the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CBA) rates. Not from the XE Currency website. This is the reason for the rate differences in the charts.
GBP to AZN Exchange Rate
As I’m writing these words, the GBP is on an upward trend against the manat.

If you're a UK citizen or traveling to Azerbaijan with British pounds, the exchange rates will probably be like this:
Current GBP to AZN Exchange Rate:
Needless to say, these rates, taken from the CBA, can be a bit different when you exchange your money.
Although they’re very approximate, these are official rates, not market rates.
Now it's time to take a closer look at where you can exchange your money in Baku at the highest rates possible.
Where to Exchange Money in Baku
There are mainly 5 options for currency exchange in Baku:
That is:
Authorized currency exchange offices.
Banks.
Azerpost offices.
ATMs.
And currency exchange at Baku airport (GYD).
Each of the options above has its own downsides and advantages.
#1. Exchange Your Money at Currency Exchange Offices in Baku
One of the easiest ways to exchange foreign currency is to find an authorized currency exchange office in Baku.

To be clear, there aren’t too many of them on every corner of the city, unlike other big cities in the world.
For example, in Istanbul, you can find many of them in the vicinity of every tourist spot.
But in Azerbaijan, it's not so.
Maybe there’re some strict rules for these types of money changers.
Or maybe, due to the fixed AZN rates, this business is not so profitable.
Nevertheless, it'd still make sense to exchange your money at one of these exchange offices.
Because, unlike banks, these bureaux de change don't have long queues.
Here are the addresses of the only 7 authorized exchange offices in Baku under the CBA:
The above are the 7 exchange offices as of today, with their pinned locations on Google Maps.
Merkezi Exchange offices, which are the closest to Baku city center and operate at 2 separate addresses, are open 24/7.
So remember these places if you need cash in an emergency.
The others work until midnight.
By the way, don't forget to take your passport with you.
#2. Exchange Your Money at Popular Banks in Azerbaijan
Banks in Baku, Azerbaijan are another reasonable option for money exchange.
First of all, some of these banks have the highest exchange rates compared to other methods.
For example, some banks in Baku offer much higher rates for selling AZN compared to the exchange offices above.

On the flipside, they’re easy to find because, unlike exchange bureaus, they’re almost everywhere in Baku.
Here's a list of the top banks in Baku:
The largest of these banks are Kapital Bank and ABB, which have branch offices in all cities across the country.
For instance, you can find Azerbaijan International Bank branches in almost every district in Baku.
You can check their official websites to see the actual currency rates and choose the best and highest one.
As a tip, I can tell you that the biggest banks don’t always offer the highest rates.
For the sake of example, Kapital Bank exchange rate for selling a dollar is 1.6970 AZN.
On the other hand, smaller banks like Azer Turk Bank offer a rate of 1.6980 AZN against 1 USD.
The disadvantages of exchanging your money in one of these banks, especially big banks, might be that they’re often very crowded.
And it’s most likely that you’ll have to wait in the queue.
Once again, you'll need your passport.
#3. Exchange Your Money at Azerpost Offices
The 3rd reliable option for currency exchange Baku is to find an Azerpost office nearby.
As a national postal operator, Azerpost currently offers currency exchange for 4 foreign currencies, which are:
USD
Euro
GBP
RUB (Russian ruble)

One of the main advantages of exchanging your currency at Azerpost is that they have many branches in every corner of Baku and across Azerbaijan as well.
Besides, exchange rates at Azerpost offices in Baku are pretty much the same as the rates at banks.
Despite this, it's within reason to make a side note that the exchange rates may differ from one branch to another.
Passport is a must.
#4. Exchange Your Money at ATMs
ATMs are the easiest way to exchange money in Baku.
No working hours, no queues, free as the air.

If you're short on time, this'll be a lifesaver.
But there is a bright side to everything, as well as an unseen side.
If you're going to exchange foreign currency at ATMs in Baku, it'll be useful to consider extra fees and commissions.
I don't recommend it unless you're in a rush.
#5. Exchange Money at the Currency Exchange at Baku Airport
If you'd rather not deal with money changing, the currency exchange Baku Airport (GYD) can be helpful.
For some, it might be convenient to do it all in one go.
Kapital Bank has 2 currency exchange branch offices in Terminal 1 on the 2nd floor, on both sides of the passport control.
You can exchange your currencies just before passport control at one of these Kapital Bank counters.
If you missed it, don't worry.
Premium Bank also has counters within GYD Terminal 1 on the 1st floor.
One of them is located next to the Baku Club Lounge, in front of Carousel 4 in the baggage reclaim area.
The other is in the meet-and-greet area of Terminal 1 at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
By the way, ABB also has a currency counter here.
As for the exchange rates at Baku Airport, like every airport on Earth, they’re a bit lower compared to other options.
But this is a very small percentage.
I'd still say it's worth exchanging some of your money at GYD Airport.
Because you may need AZN to get from Baku Airport to the city center, unless you have considered hotel shuttles or another transportation option.
